ABOUT

Sarah Rome is a theater artist, writer, arts educator, and somatic body therapist. Born in Boston and raised on Massachusetts' North Shore, she earned her BFA in Theater Arts from Miami's New World School of the Arts, and has worked as an actress, singer, dancer, choreographer, vocal coach, and voice-over artist in Miami, New York City, and Lima, Perú, where she lived on and off for the past twenty years, and was an Adjunct Professor of acting and dance in the School of Theater at Peru's Catholic University. She has also taught for Escena Contemporanea Lima in their continuing education for professionals program, and worked as a private voice coach. After four years of "pandemic-exile" with her family in Portland, Oregon, they spent one more year in Perú where Sarah was most recently the Movement & Voice Coach for a production of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard at the PUCP Cultural Center in Lima.
Sarah is also a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Oregon and specializes in CranioSacral Therapy, SomatoEmotional Release, Shiatsu, and Reiki, with voice sounding also having become a component of her healing facilitation work.
Sarah holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts & Writing from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Her writing has appeared on Medium and she was the featured guest on an episode of Artifact, Mission-at-Tenth Inter-Arts Journal's podcast about the creative process. Having recently returned to Oregon, she is currently working on a book about the ongoing challenges of managing the multiple chronic illnesses in her family while living between two countries, cultures, languages, and medical systems.
