ABOUT
Sarah Rome Guerra is a theater artist, writer, arts educator, and somatic body therapist. Born in Boston and raised on Massachusetts' North Shore, she earned her BFA in Theater Arts from Miami's New World School of the Arts and pursued supplemental training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and the Centre Lyrique in Provence, France. She has worked as an actress, singer, dancer, choreographer, vocal coach, and voice-over artist in Miami, New York City, and Lima, Peru, where she lived for the better part of twenty years. In Lima, she was an Adjunct Professor of acting and dance in the School of Theater at Peru's Catholic University, taught for Escena Contemporanea Lima in their continuing education for professionals program, and worked as a private voice coach. Her final project in Lima was as the Movement & Voice Coach for the PUCP Cultural Center’s production of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard, nominated for Best Play of 2024 by Peru’s El Comercio for their annual Premios Luces.
Sarah holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts & Writing from the California Institute of Integral Studies, where she also studied Transformative Leadership. Her writing has appeared on Medium and she was the featured guest on an episode of Artifact, Mission-at-Tenth Inter-Arts Journal's podcast about the creative process. Upon returning to South Florida this year, she was invited to do program note work for the 2025/2026 season of Miami’s Zoetic Stage.
On stage, Sarah most recently performed as the understudy for the role of Suzanne in GableStage's 2025/26 season-closing production of Eureka Day by Jonathan Spector, and is excited to officially return to the stage next season with Miami's award-winning Zoetic Stage in their 17th season-opening production of Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, kicking off the center's annual Theater Up Close series.
Sarah is also a Licensed Massage Therapist though remains on hiatus from her manual therapy work. She specializes in CranioSacral Therapy and related modalities, and maintained a private practice in Lima prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Additionally, Sarah continues her work on a book about the ongoing challenges of managing the multiple chronic illnesses in her family while living between two countries, cultures, languages, and medical systems.
